Title: Fungicide applications and environmental efficiency of cocoa farmers in Ondo state, Nigeria
Biography:

Dr. F. A. Sowunmi is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Ibadan, Ibadan. He was a Visiting Scholar at United Nations University – Institute for Natural Resources in Africa.  Dr. Sowunmi specializes in Environmental Economics and Quantitative Techniques with many International Journal Publications to his credit.

Abstract:

Statement of the Problem: Cocoa production in Ondo state, Nigeria over the years is accompanied by fungicides application to control black pod disease caused by Phytophthora megakarya, leading to adverse effect on the environment and cocoa output. Deviation in fungicides application from the standard recommended dose by farmers on cocoa output is common. Many studies on cocoa production often ignore these externalities. Methodology & Theoretical Orientation: The study is aimed at determining the environmental efficiency of cocoa farmers by using detrimental variable (deviation in fungicide application form recommended dose) and traditional inputs in the context of stochastic frontier method.

Title: Interfacial separation and characterization of Al–PE composites during delamination of post-consumer Tetra Pak materials
Biography:

Sufeng Zhang is a professor of Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, PhD tutor, academic leaders. The main research direction is the research and development of specialty paper and paper based composite materials, and paper based solid waste resource utilization technology. In these two scales have achieved outstanding results, published more than 150 articles, and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute.

Abstract:

Interfacial separation and characterization of Al–PE composites during delamination of post-consumer Tetra Pak materials: In order to understand Al–PE composite delamination during the separation process, interfacial separation and characterization of Al–PE composites during delamination were analyzed. The aim was to enrich the present theoretical analysis of Al–PE separation and to provide new ideas for the recycling and reuse of post-consumer Tetra Paks. The composites delaminated into three layers, but the times for delamination of the two plastic layers were different. After separation, some plastics were present in the separation solvents analyzed by FTIR. Bright spots of unregular particles with scattered distribution on the surfaces of the three layers were Al, O and C, detected by SEM-EDS. During the separation reaction a mixed solution permeates into the interfaces of Al–PE composites; adhesive structures of the PE layers were destroyed and even dissolved into particles, thus interfacial adhesive failure and Al–PE separation occurred. However the different properties of the adhesive layers and the oxidation degree of PE fragments cause different separation speeds of the two interfaces adhered to each side of the Al foil.
