Biography
Jorge Castilla is a Mining Engineer from the Madrid School of Mines (Spain) and an Occupational Health and Safety Technician. He has worked as a Demolition Engineer and further developed his career working for the International Technical Services Department in an International Mining Supplies Company. He is skilled in auditing, streamlining and optimizing mining operations, also designing new products, procedures and explosives equipment. He has applied new blasting techniques in open pit as well as underground operations, having experience both in Mining and Civil Engineering. Currently, He is working as a Lecturer, Researcher and Mining Consultant at the Madrid School of Mines & Energy in the Department of Geological and Mining Engineering, a part of the Technical University of Madrid, where he have finished his Ph.D. on environmental impact of mining operations. Also, he has experience on development of applied research project on industrial application of recycled aggregates in concrete.
